The cover-up continued

I'm not surprised that the Foreign Office has decided to appeal to the Information Tribunal instead of releasing the John Williams draft of the dossier, following the ruling by the Information Commissioner. Neither am I surprised that they waited until the last day to do it.

It is quite clear that the government just wants to string the process out as long as possible, with no expectation that the Tribunal rule in its favour. The Information Commissioner stressed that the Foreign Office had very poor reasons for withholding the draft, with very strong public interest reasons to release it.

I'm applying to be attached to the proceedings so that I can keep an eye on what is going on.
