Cabinet Office Freedom of Information request #12
The Cabinet Office has released the document referred to in this request. It is a record of the first meeting on "Public Handling and Briefing" on the dossier, which took place on 16 September 2002. The document itself is dated 17 September. Read the document
This request arose out of Cabinet Office Freedom of Information Act request 10, which asked for details of attendees at the drafting group meetings of 9 and 17 September 2002 and any notes of what was said. The Cabinet Office stated it had no information relating to that request. However, Chris Ames sought clarification of this claim, particularly in the light of the disclosure that the Cabinet Office had given the Hutton Inquiry a copy of a record of a meeting on 17 September 2002:
- Does any government department - to the Cabinet Office's knowledge - hold any of the information?
- Is it the Cabinet Office's position that it has no record of who was at the meetings or that it does not have information that identifies who represented the departments specified in my request?
- I note that on 12 September 2003 the Cabinet Office supplied the Hutton Inquiry with a record of a meeting at the Cabinet Office on 17 September 2002. Is this the information that I have requested?
The Cabinet Office registered this enquiry as a new FOIA request.
